Creating A Gallery Wall In My Hallway With Desenio Art Prints

The hallway area at the top of my house, which leads to the bedrooms and the family bathroom, has recently looked pretty lackluster. I had a number of random pictures in thick clunky frames hung in no particular order, and the whole space just did not feel cohesive or make me feel particularly happy as I walked up the stairs. So when Scandinavian art, poster and print company Desenio got in touch and asked if I fancied some new art prints on them, I jumped at the chance of curating my own personal, pretty gallery wall on my stairwell.

If you are into interiors and have not heard of Desenio, then take a look at their vast range of modern, on trend designs. Chances are you'll recognise some of the bestselling prints in the most sought-after Instagram rooms across the UK. Prices start from only a few pounds and you can buy the prints framed or unframed, so it is a great budget-friendly way to transform your walls.

I chose six designs which I absolutely adore. My 'thing' when it comes to art is the use of nature used in a contemporary way, so I selected pictures featuring flowers, butterfly's and birds with a modern, pink-themed twist.

I absolutely love this 'Twiggy Surprise' poster which comes in multiple sizes, starting at £6.95

To create my gallery wall I first laid out my framed prints on a protective sheet and rearranged them until I was happy with the layout. I chose to display my prints cascading up the stairs so my arrangement is staggered as it goes up the wall.

I then added double-sided picture hanging tabs as if I make a mistake while hanging my picture, it saves any damage to the wall.

Clockwise from top: 'Poppy Shape', from £6.95; 'Pink Sky', from £6.95; Twiggy Surprise, as before; 'Lisa Bengtsson 'Autumn', £18.95.

I used a mix of black and gold frames, choosing frame colour based on what suited the picture most. The delicate 'Pink Sky' poster by Elisabeth Fredriksson needed a gold frame to make the post of the gold-leaf design, while the black bird featured in this 'Memories Bird' poster needed a black frame to complement it.

The top of my stairway is now looking much more snazzy! The good news is that I also have a 25% voucher code for Desenio for you to use on any of their prints between Tuesday, April 3rd and Thursday, April 5th, except for handpicked/collaboration posters and frames. Simply type in the code 'melanielissackinteriors' to get your discount!

The large 'Shapes' poster on the left starts at 6.95.
