MADE x Natural History Museum Collaborate To Create Print Collection

This week MADE.com announced it was launching a collection of 8 prints in collaboration with the Natural History Museum. It’s something very different, a little bit vintage (some of these drawings have sat in the Museum’s archive for decades) and felt quite special, so I wanted to share it with you on the blog today.

MADE’s in-house design team picked out 8 illustrations from the Museum’s archive, which include sketches of coral, birds, sea-life and plants from the likes of John Reeves, a 19th Century Tea inspector, to Ferdinand Bauer, widely regarded as one of the greatest natural history painters of all time.

The images were given a bit of a re-tweaking to fit the modern MADE audience (the octopus was jazzed up a bit from its original hue to a more vibrant orange) and you can purchase them as of this week in an oak frame (black frame options are available from next month). While the prints are not a limited run, like all MADE products, when they decide to stop making them, you’ll never got hold of them again.

My favourite from the collection is the diced-in-half fish, pictured above, which would provide a great focal point in any bathroom.

MADE x Natural History Museum Collection is available to purchase now. Prices start at £79.
