Lust List: New Furniture and Homeware Items That I'm Obsessed With

As the summer months wind down and we move into the new season, new bits and pieces from the AW19 home collections have started to pop-up in-store and online and boy, there are some gorgeous things out there to purchase right now. All the items listed below are currently on my personal ‘lust list’. Some I know I’ll cave in and purchase, others I have no space/need for but would snap them up in a heartbeat if I did!

First up is this decorative, sculptural shell pot from Ferm Living. Made from clay, it’s matt on the outside and glazed on the inside and looks perfect on its own, without needing to be filled. It’s painted the perfect shade of ‘off-white’ and there is a really interesting video on the new Ferm Living website to how it is produced. It retails for around £65-£75 depending on where you buy it from, but it’s quite large and makes a real statement. I feel like I’m going to cave on this one, with one of them finding its way onto a shelf in my house very soon!

You can’t escape the trend for cane webbing and rattan. It’s all over the interior magazines and has encouraged a vast amount of cane-webbing DIY’s on social media. This new rattan webbed chair by Zara Home is similar to the hugely popular H&M rattan chair, but this version is much better. This has a darker wood and is a much better shape. The perfect on-trend accent chair, it’s not online at the moment, but it is coming soon.

When I added all the images into this post it became apparent that my picks are all a bit monochrome (who even am I?!), so you’ll be pleased to see the inclusion of this vibrant wallpaper collection by the wonderful Kitty McCall for Milton & King. I was introduced to Kitty McCall via Liz Nylon’s blog and I’ve been desperate to visit her shop in Kent ever since. She’s now teamed up with wallpaper and fabric suppliers Milton & King for a collection of traditional and removable wallpapers in her distinctive patterns.

The trend for marble is not going anywhere, but there is a slight shift over from white Carrara marble to black marble. Offering a budget-friendly range of black marble home accessories is H&M home, where you can find trinket bowls, salt and pepper pots and bookends all in black marble. Prices range from a fiver to £30.

My current design crush is anything a bit fluted. The shape and form of items in interiors are really being considered at the moment, and this Hera accent table by West Elm is a great high street purchase for a more ‘designer’ look. I don’t need another side table, but when it looks this good, who can say no?

Bringing in on-trend curves without the item itself being curvy, this sideboard by John Lewis & Partners is a stunning design and pretty good value at £650. As it’s John Lewis, you can also guarantee that it will be well-made.

A collaboration with interiors mag Living Etc, the new ‘Living Etc Collection’ by Love Your Home is all chubby furniture, with its high backed sofa and curved wrapped sides. It’s not cheap, but it’s way more accessible than similar designs available at the high end of the market. It looks best in lighter fabrics, which show off the shape and definition of the pieces better. Go for a boucle texture to keep it looking on-trend and high-end.

I’ve never been a fan of coffee tables, they always feel so clunky, taking up valuable space and sitting there waiting for mess to accumulate on them. However, this marble-look black TOKKI coffee table from Habitat is the exception. I first saw this coffee table on Andrew Jonathan Designs Instagram stories, where he does a weekly ‘interior ingredients’ (picking a few key pieces and making a full design scheme with them - do go and follow as it is just genius). Made from cast concrete, it’s a style statement in itself without also being a functional piece of furniture.

I featured the original version of this Alessi Plissé kettle by Michele De Lucchi on the blog at the start of the year. It has now been released as a smaller version with a litre capacity. I actually prefer the smaller version so I’m glad I held off buying it. It’s one for the Christmas list (which will be here quicker than we think!)
