New Finds: Recent Interior Discoveries For Summer 2020

There haven’t been many new collections or fresh interior pieces to talk about recently as the COVID-19 pandemic has swept across the world, halting manufacturing and distribution lines. Many brands held back from announcing new products while we all got our heads around social distancing, face masks and staying at home. As we start to tentatively move out of lockdown in the UK, I’m happy to say that in the past week there have been some lovely new bits surfacing online such as an exclusive rattan furniture collection from Rose & Grey, plus ‘just out’ home accessories from Rockett St George. Simultaneously, I’ve also discovered some designers and interior businesses that I love during a late-night lockdown Instagram or Pinterest scroll, so today on the blog I thought I’d share with you some newness and recent interior finds!

Flower For Your Lungs #1 by Poppykalas

Art Prints By Poppykalas

Poppykalas is a floral design studio based in Copenhagen. Take a quick glance at their website and you’ll see that they have worked alongside huge brands such as Georg Jensen, Nike and Bang & Olufsen on striking creative campaigns. To accompany the floral work - featured in magazines such as Vogue and Elle worldwide - Poppykalas also have an online webshop where they sell their own range of rugs, wallpaper and art prints. It is the art prints that really grab my attention: big blooms in flower market boxes, positioned for preservation in the fridge next to bottles of beer. The prints feel so joyous and optimistic and would be a remarkable addition to any home.

The Donna 18 pendant in blush by Pholc.

Donna 18 Pendant By Pholc

Simple and contemporary with its ribbed aluminium frame, I love this Donna 18 pendant by Swedish brand Pholc. Available in a variety of colours, you can also purchase a slimmer version with the Donna 7, but I think the 18 in blush is pretty much perfection.

Stacked Bubble Vase via Rockett St George

The curvy, unsymmetrical shape of these glass vases are what make them so appealing. I prefer the short, pink version to the taller options as I think it just works better. This is a perfect styling item for dressing or side tables as it will not take up too much space. Buy this little pink number for £20 via Rockett St George.

Ferm Living Lounge Chair

I love multifunctional design and the Lounge Chair by Ferm Living is the most perfect indoor/outdoor chair. Available in four different design options and two frame colours, the interchangeable woven textile seat is made from 53 recycled plastic bottles. Order your favourite version before they all sell out via Trouva.

‘Look More Expensive Than They Are’ Pieces from MADE.com

MADE usually release new pieces on constant rotation, so the past few weeks where everything has been on hold has given us all time to catch up on a few recent gems. There are three newish pieces that really stand out for me as they look so ‘high-end’ and way more expensive than their actual price tag. First up is this Otha lamp which would not look out of place on a sideboard in Sarah Sherman Samuel’s home. Super on trend with its curvy pinky-beige base, it retails for just £69.

This Babette coffee table offers super-modern design at a very acceptable price. Made from textured concrete and glass, again it’s the curvy structure which makes it feel so contemporary. Snap it up for only £250.

Bonnie armchair in boucle by MADE.com

While I love it in its caramel colourway, it will be the boucle fabric that will be the big hit for the new Bonnie armchair from MADE.com. What makes this chair so special is the shape - I love how the arms wrap around the arch backrest like wings - it’s all very pleasing on the eye. Prices start at £299 each for the velvet and £329 for the boucle.
