Home Office Mini Makeover With West Elm

I’m delighted to reveal my mini home office makeover today on the blog! On my previous post, I talked about how the shared home office I had with my husband wasn’t panning out, while at the same time, the ‘guest room’ in the basement was hardly being used and had turned into a dumping ground.
With the help of some amazing and generous companies, especially West Elm, I have now turned this space into my own home office and I LOVE IT!! Here are all the pics:
The starting point for this office was removing the broken wardrobe and finding a desk small enough for the 110cm wall space. The Audrey Mini Desk by West Elm not only looked stunning with its indented drawer fronts and gold legs, but it is 91cm in length, leaving plenty of space for it to not be too close to the radiator, nor block the toilet door. I was incredibly grateful and humbled when West Elm said they would send this desk over to me for this reveal, as well as this beautiful pink and gold velvet chair of my dreams.
Both the desk and the chair are incredibly well made and real showstoppers. My new favourite colour combo is blush pink and orange, so I love it alongside the DFS Chesterfield sofa bed that already existed in the room.
West Elm were also kind enough to let me pick a few desk accessories, so I had to go for this tall Totem Vase. I knew I wanted some on-trend Pampas grass in the room as it would work so well with the decor scheme, and after the recent heavy storm we had I managed to scoop some off the pavement that had blown off a neighbouring bush! This vase is perfect for accommodating the tall stems, while the thin rim groups the Pampas together nicely.
I also chose this Pebble Jewellery Box as I loved the exterior gold and vivid lacquered orange inside, which compliments the sofa bed. It is the perfect pretty desk accessory to store paperclips!
The room has spots, but I work mostly at my computer in the evening and prefer atmospheric lighting. I was therefore delighted to collaborate with Iconic Lights for this blog post and chose the most amazing lamp that I’ve positioned next to the sofa:
Above the desk I attached a small grid mesh board as a pin board to the wall, as I needed a place to add notes that did not cover up the beautiful Harlequin wallpaper that I put up in this room two years ago (which I still love as much as the day I hung it). Above that I built a cost-effective DIY picture ledge with some timber strips and some Gorilla Wood Glue.
So there is my mini-makeover! What do you think? I’ve changed none of the decor, but the room feels completely different and has a whole new function. I’m absolutely overjoyed at the result!
I want to say a huge thank you to West Elm, Iconic Lights and Modern Rugs who provided product so that my new home office could happen. I was delighted with all the products and would wholeheartedly recommend them.
