How To Make An Easy Easter Door Wreath
Here are two easy Easter/spring everlasting wreath ideas. One is large and can be hung on your front door, the other is more decorative and suitable for internal use. Both are simple to create using a mix of faux foliage, flowers and decorative eggs.
OUTDOOR WREATH
To make this wreath you will need:
Faux foliage ( I used berry bush from Hobbycraft)
Wide ribbon
A small selection of faux flowers
Mini glue gun and glue sticks
Twigs (I used twisted willow branches)
To start, I attached five pieces of faux foliage to the rattan wreath base using floristry wire to secure it. All the foliage should rotate in the same direction. Knot the wire to the wreath base first, then use the same piece of wire all the way around the wreath for each piece of foliage. Do not cut the wire until the end, as this reduces the chance of any foliage moving or falling away from the base.
Once your foliage is secured, tie a piece of ribbon around one part of the rattan base. This ribbon is how you will hang your wreath up, plus it now marks the βtipβ of the wreath.
Using hot glue, attach all your decorative elements. Chop down faux flower bunches to make them smaller and distribute them evenly around the wreath. Gather and glue bunches of moss and the glue down eggs in the centre. Twist and wrap twigs around the final design and secure in place.
DECORATIVE INDOOR WREATH
To make this wreath you will need:
Ribbon made from jute or hessian
Glue gun
1 piece of faux foliage and some decorative flowers ( I used lace flower and fern from Hobbycraft)
Decorative eggs, a nest and feathers.
Using wire cutters or very sharp scissors, cut down your foliage to single leaves, rather than keep it a gathered bunch. Stick each leaf to the base of the hoop, fanning outwards. Then, cut down your faux flowers and apply them on top of the base of the leaves to disguise where they meet.
Glue some decorative eggs and feathers in the nest, then attach the nest to the design. Apply the last remaining flowers, then tie your jute ribbon to the top to hang your decoration.
* I was hired by Hobbycraft to create these wreaths for coverage on their social media, upon which all products required to make it were supplied by Hobbycraft free of charge. I am documenting the process of creating them on my blog as a personal decision. I did not receive a fee for publishing them on my website.
