There’s been a really good flurry of lovely lamps popping up this month. I do love a good table lamp - especially in winter when you just need that small extra boost of light on those grey days. They are also such a versatile purchase: move them around your home to use on the sideboard, the bedside table, the hallway console, a desk, or to add a warm glow on the kitchen worktop.

2LG Studio x MADE

A collaboration between the talented interior designers 2LG Studio and MADE, this side squiggle lamp is one of the standout pieces from the recently launched collection. With a glazed ceramic base and conical shade, you do have to wait around 10 weeks for it to be delivered (always one of the downsides with purchasing from MADE), but if you can hold out then it is worth it for this designer piece. 2LG lamp, £90.

Metal Table Lamp - H&M Home

These brand new modern little metal table lamps from H&M Home are causing quite the stir and are popping up all over Instagram. Available in lilac, off-white, and yellow, they are great for colour-blocking interior schemes. A total bargain at just £34.99 each, you’d be wise to snap one up before they all sell out. The Muse Portable Lamp - Tala x Farrow & Ball

The great thing about this little light is that it is portable - charge it up and you can carry it about everywhere without having to be near a plug socket. This makes it great for use on the garden table (it’s rated IP44 weatherproof), but also perfect on shelves or window sills where you don’t want a cable dangling down. Available in three powder-coated matt Farrow & Ball shades, it will stay lit for 24 hours without further charging and is made from durable, recyclable materials. Twist Wood Lamp - Folie Chambre

Handmade in Yorkshire from tulipwood using traditional methods, this twist design is then lacquered for a glossy finish. Crafted, decorative wood features are very much back in style (see also bobbin furniture from my recent homeware trends edit). Team with a decorative shade for a stand out lamp that acts as a key focal point in any room. Lights & Lamps x Living, Etc

Another collaboration collection (this time with interiors mag Living, Etc.) these real marble table lamps are a great price for natural stone (I’ve also been told by a reliable source that the quality of the lamps is favourable). One option is smaller in scale and constructed from a lighter marble combined with an off-white linen shade (35cm high), or a larger, darker version with a black shade (54cm high). John Lewis & Partners - Tony in Blue

While this great value lamp is available in eight varying colours, it’s the striking cobalt blue option that makes it rather special. A vibrant colour pop, it’s the perfect choice for a teen’s bedroom or in a richly painted space (it would pack a real punch placed in front of a yellow wall). Tony Lamp, £20, John Lewis & Partners.

Mini Flute Table Lamp - Loaf

I love these new vintage-style fluted glass lamps from Loaf. The base of the mini version is just 16cm tall, so it feels very delicate. It’s a huge bonus that you can pick a shade colour out of 13 fabric options - it feels really bespoke and will slot into any existing home decor scheme. Ice Blue Ceramic Lamp - Rose & Grey

New into Rose & Grey are these retro table lamps. The shades and the bases have to be purchased separately so you can mix and match, but my preference is the tall blue cylinder shade with the matching blue base. A tall lamp like this is great on a really wide sideboard where other table lamps tend to look a little lost - simply place it at one of the ends to balance out the furniture width.
