JD Williams Home Ware: Curtains & Bedding Review
It has only been in the past year that I have become aware of JD Williams. My first introduction was discovering a really great pendant light while trying to source one for a porch project that I was working on. The light was really well designed and incredible value for money, and I was super surprised to learn that it was actually by TV personality Lorraine Kelly as part of her collection for the brand. As it turns out, JD Williams is actually the UK's leading direct home shopping company, with a 6 million customer database, plus 3,500 employees.
I love to scour the high street for great value interiors and home ware, but I tend to do this less online. I like to see the quality of a product, especially if it has a low price point. Yet recently I've felt like I might be missing out on some seriously good items, so when JD Williams got in touch and asked if I'd like to try some pieces in their home ware range, I lapped up the opportunity.
The hallway area on the top floor of my home was needing a bit of a revamp. I still loved the greeny-grey coloured walls that I painted a year earlier, but the curtains up at the window were a snap-decision choice after needing them instantly for necessity (early summer mornings in the hall where the dog sleeps were waking him up for his morning walk waaaay early, so we needed window treatments for this part of the house as soon as we moved in.) I'd gone off the pattern of the existing curtains, and a leaking radiator had stained them in parts, so I chose these pencil pleat ready-made pale pink thermal black out canvas curtains from JD Williams to replace them.
Available in a wide variety of sizes, the price of these curtains range from £25 - £75 , and I have to say they are excellent value for money. When pulled, our hallway is pitch black now. I also like the fact that they are thermal, which suits my drafty, period-home, wooden windows a treat.
I also really like the colour as it's the perfect soft pink - not too baby, not too Barbie, just right for adding a touch of pink in your decor scheme.
If you are a regular reader to this blog, you'll know that I've been doing up the guest room for like, forever. With a new guest bed on the way I wanted to get some really nice bedding for my mum who stays in this room most weeks. I was drawn to this Decadence Jacquard Duvet Cover Set as I liked the busy geometric pattern, but subtle bronze/grey colours.
The set comes as a duvet cover plus two housewife pillowcases and is £45 for a double bed (You can also get it in king and single.)
The material is thick and is nicely lined on the underside in a matching colourway.
Again, I thought it was incredibly good value for money and I would have expected to pay more than £45 for it if I saw it on display in a shop.
For me, JD Williams gets a big thumbs up! I can see why they are doing so well in the UK right now.
