DIY Christmas: How To Make Whimsical Folded Paper Bell Tree Decorations
I have a real thing for bells within my Christmas decor schemes. I own a lot of ceramic bells and I adore vintage-style tarnished gold bells strung along a garland, or hosted on a door wreath.
This year, I decided that I wanted to combine my love of bells with my love of paper Christmas decorations and make some whimsical folded paper bell ornaments to hang on my tree.
This is an effortless craft; you can download my free PDF bell template so that you can quickly and easily make the same folded paper bell decorations as featured in this post.
You will also need the following:
Thread (I picked out some thread in gold)
Some relatively thick paper or thin card
Pencil
Scissors
Crafter’s companion tape machine (or good quality glue stick)
Step one:
Make a template on a thick piece of card from the downloadable printout. Draw five outlines of the bell shape onto your chosen paper, before cutting them out individually with scissors.
Step two:
Fold all five cut-out bells down the middle. Using your crafter's companion tape or glue stick, glue one on top of the other, carefully aligning each side.
Step three:
Add some glue to the spine of your folded paper bells; attach a loop of the thread upon which your paper bell decoration will hang.
Step four:
Loop some thread through the top of a gold craft bell and glue it to the bottom of the paper bell spine.
Step five:
Apply some glue to the final exposed sides of the paper bell; join together to form a bell shape before attaching a mini craft bow to the top.
And that’s it! A super simple and easy Christmas paper craft that looks stylish and elegant.
