DIY Christmas: Take A Look At My Exclusive Decorations Handcrafted for Laura Ashley

I was so delighted to be asked to create a handmade Christmas for Laura Ashley in the show home set up at this year’s Ideal Home Christmas, held at London’s Olympia. The five-day event showcases over 600 brands and is full of Christmas gifts and home decor inspiration for visitors to get ideas and inspiration for the festive season ahead.

Iconic British brand Laura Ashley constructed two Christmas-themed rooms in the centre of the show, giving me the honour of designing the fireplace mantel decor and adorning the Christmas tree. In tribute to Laura Ashley’s well-loved whimsical prints and patterns, I made by hand a variety of tree ornaments, bows, swags and chains out of Laura Ashley wallpaper, prints and fabrics.

Over 150 paper angels, baubles, paper bells, paper trees and homemade red velvet bows adorned the Christmas tree in the living room. For the fireplace, handmade fabric decorations were hung below the large floral fireplace garland that I constructed using a mix of faux and dried flowers, alongside real foliage.
